Pool Mineral Systems

A pool mineral system is an alternative or supplementary means of sanitizing your pool. Minerals allow you to use less of your traditional sanitizer like bromine or chlorine, all while leaving your pool water clean and sparklingly clear. Mineral sanitizer systems use minerals, metals, or elements from the natural environment to produce water quality benefits that would otherwise be produced by synthetic chemical systems.

Companies are not allowed to sell a mineral sanitizer in the United States unless it has been registered with the EPA. Mineral technology takes advantage of the cleansing and filtering qualities of commonly occurring substance like silver and copper that are known to destroy pathogens. Silver has been shown to be effective against harmful bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and fungi. Copper is typically used as an algaecide. Unlike chlorine or bromine, metals and minerals do not evaporate and do not degrade. Mineral systems can make the water softer and lower the level of sanitizer level in the water.

From product manufacturers like King Technology and Zodiac, you can get in-ground mineral systems, packs of Pool Frog chemicals, mineral reservoirs, and algaecides that are all available in the pool mineral system category.
